Update: September 19, 2020
“The new limits will not apply to events or gatherings held in staffed businesses and facilities, such as bars, restaurants, cinemas, convention centres, banquet halls, gyms, places of worship, recreational sporting or performing art events. Existing rules, including public health and workplace safety measures for these businesses and facilities, continue to be in effect.”
Welcome to Worship at
Stouffville United Church
After careful planning and in compliance with Provincial and Regional Health and Safety recommendations, Stouffville United Church will be re-opening for in-person worship beginning Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 10:30 am! If you’re not comfortable returning to in-person worship at this time, we are recording and uploading our worship services to Stouffville United’s You Tube channel for later viewing.
Given current regulations for indoor worship gatherings, there are 28 spaces available for seating. To ensure you get a seat, please pre-register! Go to the Eventbrite link on our website which will be open on the Monday preceding the Sunday service. You can also register by calling the church office at 905-640-1163 during office hours (Monday to Thursday 9 am to 12 Noon) and leave your name and phone number. Please note that our Children’s Worship program will continue to meet virtually via Zoom.
When you arrive at the church, enter the building through the South doors off the parking lot. Worship still will begin at 10:30 but it would be helpful if you were able to come a little earlier than normal. It will take longer for us all to safely enter the church and find our seats. While in the building, masks are mandatory. There are hand sanitizer stations both inside and outside our building. A greeter will take you to your seat. Families are asked to stay together. Please remember to maintain a 2-metre distance and also no hand shaking or hugs!
You will notice a few changes in the worship service. We’re going paperless! So, no printed bulletins. While we will have beautiful music as part of our worship, we’ve made the decision to have no singing. An Offering Box is in the sanctuary where you can leave your financial offering. When worship is over, our greeters will help you to leave the building in a safe manner.
We will miss not spending time together at our Coffee and Conversation time in the Davis Room but hope that you can safely share greetings with each other when you are outside the building, of course with proper distancing and masks in place! Thank you for worshipping with us! We are so excited that you can be with us!
